The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island from The Asylum, which was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


This movie is about an asylum. As such, it has a budget similar to a big kid's lunch and uses it wisely. It focuses only on the main actors and shoots all sequences during lunch break. We must not (new updates) forget that this film is a kaiju movie, and they are pretty good at it, so perhaps The Asylum won’t be as bad.
